Melissa’s Bio

Melissa Juvinall is a part-time freelance editor and proofreader. She is a member of The Christian PEN: Proofreaders and Editors Network. She has worked in editing and writing since 1997. Melissa has a Bachelor’s and Master’s in English with a specialization in children’s literature.

Before she began freelance work, she edited for a fiction publisher and wrote and edited for various businesses, including a large insurance company and a small ministry office. Melissa is also a former campus staff worker with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Melissa has been a born-again Christian since Fall of 1991.

Melissa has recently been editing for a few businesses and judging for the Christy Awards. She edits nonfiction, fiction, and children’s books.

Melissa lives in Normal, IL with her husband, Pete, and is a stay-at-home mom of Aidan, a talkative preschooler. They are also adopting an infant girl from Ethiopia through America World Adoption Agency and hoping to bring her home by the end of 2008. When she is not editing and when Aidan is asleep, she loves to do cross stitch, stamp cards, read, and do jigsaw puzzles.
