Basically, a high school student gets in trouble for lifting a banner that says ‘Bong Hits 4 Jesus’ up and he’s taking it to the Surpreme Court for violating his 1st amendment rights.
*sigh*

I don’t think the student should get in trouble at all. I think it is important for people to not fear what they want to speak about.
Please don’t get me wrong though. The kid certainly is an idiot. But as Thomas Jefferson’s marketplace of ideas states, “People should have the right to say what they want, and in the free market we have the right to choose with which idea we want to subscribe.” Not an exact quote but close enough to get the idea across.
