Notes from the terminal ward

Redeeming creation one byte at a time

It’s been a while…

October2

Aidan is developing some very sweet tendancies when interacting with others. Literally, there’s not a day that goes by that he doesn’t make us smile and enjoy him.

 Heard recently around the house:

 - We’re getting shots in advance of our trip to Eithiopia. Aidan got Hepatitis A and B shots and this was our conversation:

“Daddy, I got titus A and B shots.”

“Really?”

“yeah, and I got them here and here (points to arms)”

“Yeah, and C shots too!”

And also:

“Mommy, you’re Bootiful and I love you just the way you are” not prompted.

Aidan rocks.

Aidan was getting dressed this weekend and, for a 3.5 year old, has a number of clothes that I would wear, probably, if they were in a bigger size -

“Aidan. That’s a great outfit; I would wear that if I were you.”

“You can’t daddy. You’re too big.”

Post-its from the terminal ward.

One fun conversation tonight with Aidan -

me: “Aidan, you’re really cute. You have your mommy’s eyes”

 Aidan (shocked): “I don’t have mommy’s eyes. I have Aidan’s eyes!”

And, so, I got bit by a spider this week :( . On the old 1-10 scale, pain around the bite has been around the 7 or 8. My arm looks sun burnt and is swelled up like…oh, I don’t know…a big red clown nose :) . I’d take a picture, but I don’t think anyone would want that. No word on what kind of bite it is, it just is painful and sollen :(

Heard around the house – Easter Edition

May3

I wanted to include this one before it slipped out of my memory.

On Easter, our church sets up a cross in the foyer with the dried palm branches from Palm Sunday sitting around the cross, and a white sheet draped around the shoulders of the cross.

Aidan, in his 3 year old mischevious-ness decided to go up and start touching the cross just as we needed to go. I picked him up and started to walk towards the door when he reached out desperately for the cross and said ‘I need my Jesus!!!’

Indeed.

O.k., so we picked up Vonage this week and will loose the surley bonds of Verizon, our local telco. We ended up going to Circuit City and got a really sweet deal on the system.  As we were driving out to run some other errands, Aidan overhears me say ‘vonage’ and replies “Vonage and Bono, Vonage and Larry, Vonage and….who daddy?” “Adam” “Vonage and Adam!”  I thought to myself – “That’s my boy!” and then I about drove off the road laughing.

No lie.
