2 down, one more to go.
0We’ve passed the half way point of the academic summer and my ‘Summer of websites’ is coming along well. I just sent the second of three sites are now released into the world.
This one is an mp3 store for one of my favorite bands/artists – Bill Mallonee and the Vigilantes of Love. In an effort to get an extensive back catalog into distribution again, I took all 15 of his studio albums and put them up as mp3s (320Kbps VBR).
The php script I used is the 1-2-3 Music Store from Easybe.com. It’s good, in fact it works really well for this application, but a caveat is that the documentation is sparse; you need to do some digging to make it work for you. Not bad, but there is some feeling of accomplishment that comes with making something work, I think, well.
Anyway, let me know what you think. I know a few of you all are VOL fans, so enjoy!
You *will* be assimilated (or at least proposed to)
0Another Apple store (aka the borg cube) opened yesterday in NYC. Check out the video from the opening day of the store; it’s kind of ineresting just how many people are still out at 4 a.m. I especially enjoy the 5 a.m. hour. Wait for a minute and watch the screen; I hope she said ‘yes’.

I wish I had a ‘weird’ catagory. The link above is from dof and is of a pencil we found. The pencil’s inscription is ‘Friends in Christ’. The pencil’s manufacturer? Written on the pencil are the words ‘Made in China’. Fill in your own joke about incongruity.
